On Friday evening, Nollywood actor Ik Ogbonna‘s wife Sonia and son were attacked on Mile 2 road.

I Come From A Very Poor Family – Musician

MzVee has revealed that she came from a poor family.The Abofra singer who released her second album Verified last week said this while talking about how to end extreme poverty in Ghana as an ambassador for the World Bank’s End Extreme Poverty campaign.

The event organized by TEDxAccra took place at the World Bank office at Ridge in Accra.

“I grew up from poor background. I remember when I was young; my family of six were all staying in one bedroom in someone’s house.

“But I’m glad my mom learnt catering which I will say helped my parent get out of extreme poverty. Now she has three restaurants and over 100 employees,” she said.MzVee bagged for herself an ambassadorial deal with the World Bank. A deal that will see her work with the World Bank on their ‘End Extreme Poverty’ campaign.

She together with her record label Lynx Entertainment have made a commitment to assist with the End Poverty campaign through education, and as such will be starting a scholarship program for children in need of financial assistance to further their education.

I didn't speak to Pat Thomas for years - Nana Yaa

Musician, Nana Yaa was not on speaking terms with her dad, highlife legend Pat Thomas for years.Yaa told Kofi Okyere Darko on 360Live on Live FM, she didn’t hear from her dad for some seven years during her stay in Liberia.

“He was supposed to go there (Liberia), and he ended up in Germany. And he was supposed to take us along with him but that didn’t happen so somehow we ended up with her and he was supposed to come back to Liberia to do his show and bring us back home. And that didn’t happen; we ended up staying, my brother and I. He passed away over there, and we ended up staying there for seven years, no sign of my dad, no calls, no nothing.”

The hurt and pain led to the situation where she decided not to talk to dad.

“.. so it was a crazy situation, so for years I didn’t speak to my dad. I didn’t want to know because as far as I was concerned, he deserted us. It was hard, it was crazy I didn’t have my own family.”
