The perpetrator of the Friday bomb attack on Al Ridha Mosque in Al Ahsa in the Eastern Province has been identified as Abdul Rahman Bin Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al Tuwaijri, a 22-year-old Saudi national. The interior ministry said on Saturday, January 30, said that the attacker who bombed the mosque in Al Mahasin neighbourhood had been arrested two years ago for taking part in a rally to call for the release of detainees.

A second suicide bomber was arrested during the attack and he is being treated for wounds, the ministry said, adding that details about his identity will be revealed later.The statement said that four Saudi citizens were killed and 33 were injured in the attack. Three security servicemen were also wounded.

"So far, 19 of the injured citizens have left the hospital following their treatment whereas the other 14 and the three policemen are still being treated," the ministry said.
The security forces will continue their efforts to identify and track down all those involved in the attack through planning, execution, support and direct or indirect incitement," the ministry pledged. During a visit to the injured at the hospital, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz expressed national resolve to address terrorism.

Legendary Highlife Musician Daniel Amakye Dede who survived a fatal accident at Bunsu Junction early this year, says the accident left him terrified.

Amakye is lucky to be alive after he was involved in an accident that claimed the life of his manager.

The artiste who lost his manager and bosom friend, Isaac Yeboah in the accident disclosed he is uncertain his career will ever be the same without his late manager, adding that his manager diligently secured all his bookings, hence finding another in his stead would be almost impossible.

“….Somebody called that he wants me to come and play a programme for him, I couldn’t even talk to him because... it was my manager who was charging everything. Charterhouse has rolled out plans for the 2016 edition of the annual Ghana Music Awards (GMA), with a call for entries for all works produced within the calendar year to be considered.

The award scheme seeks to recognise songs that have kept the country dancing as well as award artistes, producers, recording labels and other industry professionals whose tireless efforts in the face of adverse financial and logistical challenges have kept the entertainment industry vibrant.

This year, the awards planning committee and the organisers plan to institute measures to continue to uplift the image of the prestigious award scheme.

According to the organisers, nominations for this year’s awards slated for May are opened for considerations, adding that all interested stakeholders are encouraged to pick nomination forms from the offices of Charterhouse Productions, selected radio and TV stations or download from www.ghanamusicawards.com.

Ghanaian hiplife musician Emmanuel Botchwey, known in showbiz as Kwaw Kese, has revealed plans to fete and donate food and other items to over 4,000 inmates of the Nsawam Prisons in the Eastern Region.Kwaw Kese’s Valentine’s Day magnanimity is to express love to the prisoners.

He announced the intention on his Instagram page saying it was “one of the things I am doing this year…all I need is your support, and we can put smiles on the faces of these inmates…”
