Amakye Dede
Highlife music legend, Amakye Dede, who was involved in a fatal road accident, last Saturday at the Bunso Junction near Nsutam in the Eastern Region, has warned event organisers to avoid holding any thanksgiving event on his behalf.

Amakye Dede, currently at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital receiving treatment, told BEATWAVESthat he has been informed that a group of persons are working behind closed door to organise a thank you concert on his behalf without his knowledge.

The highlife music legend escaped death on Saturday morning when a car he was in with his bodyguard and manager was involved in a fatal accident that killed his manager, Isaac Yeboah, the managing editor of the P&P on the spot.

He was reportedly in his car with his bodyguard and manager waiting to perform at the concert when the sprinter crashed into them.

Currently, Amakye Dede and the bodyguard are receiving medical care at a hospital.

Amakye Dede, however, thanked all those who visited him by his sick bed, adding that the visit was timely and will boost his recovery process. According to him, such visits will strengthen him.

So far, some of the personalities who have visited the musician at the hospital include President John Mahama, Patrick Boamah, MP for Okai-Koi Central Constituency, Tourism Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare and her deputy Dzifa Gomashie, Dr Osei Kwame, CEO of Despite Group of Companies and a host of other personalities.
