Police Speak On Castro Today

The Police administration is expected to address a news conference today over the disappearance of hip life artiste Theophilus Tagoe, aka Castro.

Castro, together with his friend Janet Bandu, went ‘missing’ during a Jet Ski ride at the Aqua Safari Beach Resort in Ada, on July 6, 2014.

This was after Castro and Asamoah Gyan, aka Baby Jet, had gone to the resort for recreation.

The press conference comes at a time when Staff Sergeant (rtd) Joe Bandu, father of Janet Bandu, has petitioned the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to arrest Asamoah Gyan, the Black Stars captain, over the disappearance of his daughter and Castro.

Days of intensified search operations by the Marine Division of the Ghana Police Service, with the hope of finding Castro and Janet alive, proved futile.

It may be recalled that as a result of the disappearance of Castro, Daniel Kenu, Daily Graphic Bureau chief in Kumasi, was recently attacked for asking Asamoah Gyan a question that there were rumours that he (Asamoah Gyan) had ‘sacrificed’ his friend Castro to rise to fame, at a press soiree.

Youth of Teshie in Accra, during the recent celebration of Homowo in the area, also made the allegation of sacrificing Castro, giving the Graphic reporter the basis to ask the question.

Meanwhile, Dr Maurice Ampaw, a private legal practitioner, has also jumped into the fray indicating that he will by the end of this month reveal the whole truth surrounding the whereabouts of Castro.

He is reported to have said that Asamaoh Gyan must come out with the truth.

“you cannot hide the truth; the truth is only one and I promise by the end of this month, I will come out with more revelations,” Dr Ampaw is quoted to have stated.

Maurice Ampaw is alleged to have said that upon his own investigation, he found out that a necklace worn by Castro was later found in a dustbin hours before he and his lady friend got missing.
