Kwaw Kese Has Learnt His Lessons – MUSIGA

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has joined calls for leniency in the case involving controversial hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese.

The Union believes the Abodam hitmaker has learnt his lessons after being on remand for allegedly smoking a substance believed to be marijuana in public.

Kwaw Kese, born Emmanuel Botchwey, was arrested on Saturday November 22, 2014 at a popular spot in Kumasi. He was subsequently sent to the KMA Circuit Court and was remanded in police custody.

A second plea for bail was rejected by the presiding judge, Justice William Boampong after prosecutors argued that they were still investigating the matter. Kwaw Kese is to reappear in court on Monday, December 22, 2014.But President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kufuor in an interview with Adom News appealed for his release. He said inasmuch as MUSIGA is against
the use of illicit drugs by artistes, the judge handling the case should consider his social contribution and temper justice with mercy.

Obuor as he is popularly called said Kwaw Kese's ordeal should be a lesson to all musicians in the country. He thanked all who in various ways showed solidarity to Kwaw during these trying times.
