‘Swedru Agona’ Rapper Kwaw Kese popularly known as ‘Abodam’ is expected to walk out of the Kumasi Central prison as a free man after serving his one day prison sentence today Friday April 24, 2015.
The famous hiplife artiste was on Thursday April 23 jailed after he was convicted of smoking wee in public in November 22, 2014 in Kumasi

The judge William Boampong also fined him GH¢ 1,200. Should he default in paying the fine, "Abodam" will go to prison for three years with hard labour but the rapper and his managers paid the fine outright.
Judgement was passed following a ‘U-turn’ by Kwaw Kese’s Lawyer. His initial not guilty plea was changed to guilty by his counsel, Nana Kwesi Boaitey because according to him the continues adjournment and countless court appearances was affecting Kwaw Kese’s life and his music career therefore making things easier for the court.
“The case was dragging and it was affecting my client. He needs his life back”, Kwaw Kese’s told Peacefmonline.com.
Kwaw spent about five weeks on remand for smoking in public at the Kumasi Central Prison and spent a couple days on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after he was taken ill due to poor conditions at the Kumasi Central Prisons.
He was granted bail on December 30 2014 after several court appearances. The "King of the Street" have released a couple of new singles after he was granted bail including "Massa I beg" and "Yakubu" featuring Sarkodie.
He also donated several items to the Kumasi Central Prison and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) on Valentine's day.
