I’m Not Fighting Awards -Iwan .

There is a new twist to the on-going brawl between organisers of the BASS Awards and Reggae artiste IWAN, with the latter stating categorically that he is not interested in the awards.

Speaking exclusively to News One, IWAN who had pulled out of the event stated that he felt the organisers and board of the BASS Awards had been ignoring his request to explain why one of his submitted works was dropped.

“For me I’m not fighting for any award. They have ignored my request thinking that in the end they can just put me on the BASS Awards by force, meanwhile I’m part of the BASS Awards,” he said.

Since the release of the BASS Awards’ nomination list, some members of the Reggae and Dancehall fraternity like Shatta Rako and IWAN have registered their displeasure about some categories.

But organisers of the event say there are certain requirements that works submitted by these artistes are supposed to meet before they qualify to be placed in any category.

Meanwhile, IWAN feels that by not addressing his request, the board and organisers of the awards deliberately want to sabotage him.

The BASS Awards, which is scheduled for August 30, is designed to award Reggae and Dancehall artistes. The event is jointly organised by Rackus Productions, BullHaus Entertainment and Solid Multimedia.
