PHOTOS: Blakk Rasta thrills over 20,000 crowd at Canada concert.

Blakk Rasta has chalked another success story by being the first African act to perform at this year’s Jambana One World Festival in Canada.
The annual Jambana Festival is an exciting event that apart from music provides opportunities for marketing, networking and socializing with delicious food and excellent entertainment.
Blakk Rasta, known in real life as Abubarkar Ahmed, raised Ghana’s flag high when he took the stage at the two-day festival from Sunday, August 3 to Monday, August 4 at the Markham Fair Grounds.
The ‘Barack Obama’ hit singer shared the big stage, which had over 20,000 music enthusiasts in attendance, with several renowned reggae greats including the legendary reggae singer Coco Tea, and Mighty Sparrow.
The host of the Taxi Driver show on Hitz FM, was performing at the concert as part of his tour of the United States and America after the success launch of his latest album, ‘Ancestral Moonsplash’. The album has received seven nominations at the 2014 Bass Awards.

In spite of a four-hour downpour that nearly marred the event, Blakk Rasta was infectious with his performance captivating patrons with hit after hit. The crowd danced to every tune who laced his performance with some African history and a commentary that he regrets Ghana was on the verge of going for a bail-out from the International Monitory Fund (IMF) despite being blessed with gold, diamond etc.
The crowd went gaga when Blakk Rasta performed his ‘Zantan Bua’ hit song - the goat dance.
Before making way for Cocoa Tea to take the stage, the Ghanaian reggae star capped his performance with hits like ‘Rikers Island’ and the evergreen ‘Barack Obama’.
Blakk Rasta, who has already been booked for next year’s event, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and also thanked the fans who cheered him on even in the rain. Already he has recorded a new song in Canada titled Blakk Rasta ‘Story Untold’ (Charan Charan) and he is expected to release it soon.
The controversial musician’s tour continues with a performance at America’s biggest festival, ‘Labour Day’ on August 28, at the Bronx Museum in the US.
In what is a packed year, Blakk Rasta is also slated to perform in Jamaica, Belize, Guyana, Trinidad, Morocco, Gambia and Zanzibar.
Prior to Blakk Rasta's Tour abroad, he has already done a nationwide tour of Ghana with his ‘Ancestral Moonsplash’ album.
