Ghanaian actress, Roselyn Ngissah, cannot stop thanking God enough for winning the Best Lead Actress Award at this year’s African Film/ Music Awards & Festival(AFRIFIMO) which was held last weekend in Maryland, USA.
Roselyn beat other actresses such as Yvonne Okroro to grab the title.
“I am very humbled and I thank God for the award, I have been nominated on several ocassions outside Africa and this is the first time I have won. I am more than happy” she told Showbiz last week Friday.
According to an elated Roselyn who has also been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at GIAMA Awards also to be hosted in USA next month, she is grateful to anyone who voted for her to win the award.
Known for movies such as Somewhere In Africa, 4play, Devil In A Dress, Purple Rose, Adams Apple, Tenants, Miser and Sugar, Roselyn said she is working hard to produce her own movies.
For Roselyn, the sky is her limit so far as acting is concern. “Nothing will stop me from what I know best, so far as I am alive,” she said.
Aside Roselyn, Ghanaian actor, Kofi Adjorlolo received a special Diamond Honorary Award alongside great actors like Morgan Freeman; USA, Alex Usifo; Nigeria, David Vandy; Sierra Leone and Jimmy Bangura from Sierra Leone.
AFRIFIMO awards was conceived to reward deserving Africans and people of African descent in the film and music industry all over the world who have made significant progress in the entertainment industry.
